Painting Solutions & Consultation
Not sure what the room needs? We will come out, talk it through and recommend the finish that actually suits the space — before anyone quotes you a price.
The conversation before the quote
Most painting problems start before a brush is lifted: the wrong sheen in a hallway that gets scuffed daily, a colour chosen from a card under shop lighting, or a finish that cannot cope with bathroom steam. Those decisions cost more to undo than to get right.
So we talk them through with you first. What the room is used for, how much daylight it gets and from which direction, whether children or pets live there, and what you are actually trying to achieve. Then we recommend.
What we help you decide
- Colour, including how a shade shifts between morning and evening light
- Sheen, because hallways, kitchens and bathrooms need harder, more washable finishes than bedrooms
- Where to spend and where to save — refinishing cabinets instead of replacing, for instance
- Sequence, if you are doing several rooms or combining painting with remodeling
- Timing, especially for exterior work where the season decides the result
North-facing rooms are the usual surprise
A colour that looks warm on the card reads noticeably cooler and greyer on a north-facing wall in Cincinnati, where winter light is flat for months. The same shade on a south-facing wall looks like a different colour entirely. We will tell you that before you commit, not after two coats are on.
Custom work
Accent walls, feature ceilings, two-tone cabinetry, trim picked out in a contrasting finish — we do custom work where it suits the room. We will also say plainly when an idea will not work as well in practice as it does in a photograph.
Then the estimate
Once the decisions are made we measure and leave you a written price. Free, no obligation, and the figure we write down is the figure you pay unless you change the scope.
Common questions
- Do you charge for a colour consultation?
- No. It is part of the estimate visit.
- Can you help me choose colours?
- Yes, including how a shade will read in your room as the light changes through the day.
- What if I already know what I want?
- Then we get on with it. The consultation is there if you want it.
